3.2 MPG CHECK

Hi all, I have just finished a 3 month mpg test on my 3.2 (Sad or not ???). Well with the way things are with fuel prices every little helps right. By driving carefully I have now got my 3.2 up to 25.3 mpg. Please let me know if you know of better results than this for a V6 please let me know. I only really use my car on the urban runs so not really distance work.

thats pretty good especially if its urban. Are you traveling in traffic or are there a couple of A roads involved? The best I get is around 21mpg urban and 25mpg combined

A bit of traffic but not to bad. I don't do great milage normally as it's only 6 miles to work each day. But I keep the revs down and take it easy. Also I have taken a lot of the weight off Monty so it's lighter than most 3.2 LBW's.

I removed several items when I first got the car. As I only use it on road there were several things I felt I didn't need. I did the same to my last Fronty. I removed The tow bar complete with electrics, spare wheel and it's mounting bracket and then smoothed the rear door and re-painted. I removed the jack from the boot as it is not required. Side steps were removed as was the nudge bar from the front. All of those items added up to 670ibs in total. Or put another way 3 large passengers This has made a noticeable differance when driving the vehicle. It stops and go's better and helps with MPG.

Yea go for it. You would be surprised how heavy a 4x4 tow bar is. I used a jack to support mind as I removed it. I took all the electrics out of mine as well as they run the full lenth of the car and themselfs were not light. Every little helps.
