Re: Molybdenum Disulphidepersonally i dont believe this stuff is as good as its claimed to be. if it was surely a manufacturer or oil company would hold the patent and it would be hidden on a shelf somewhere
Re: Molybdenum DisulphideThey cant hold a patent for a naturally occurring substance, it would be like holding a patent for oil.
Have a look at the ingredients for CV grease and its black or dark coloured Ste

Re: Molybdenum DisulphideWord of warning when using molyslip for your gearbox, its engine oil moly you need not gear moly as your box uses engine oil on manuals. You can use the gear moly in front and rear diffs as that's gear oil, though I would be wary about adding it if you have a Limited Slip Diff (LSD) Ste

Re: Molybdenum DisulphideAt a VM garage where I was an apprentice in the 1950's we rebuilt Recon engines with moly so it's not that new.
Also in the 1960's it was excellent for Mini engines with their combined engine and gearbox, running in the same oil. In theory gearbox syncro's can not be expected to perform as well as with conventional oil.
