understanding a mechanics lingo ...Apparently there is a lot of people out there who don't understand what garages are talking about, when there car goes in for repair.
So now there is a campaign group that are trying to change things - Just Here, The Plain English Campaign says nine out of 10 people are bewildered by garage jargon ..... That's a lot of people nine out of ten My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ?

Re: understanding a mechanics lingo ...seems to me that if people dont bother to obtain any knowledge at all about whats usually the second most expensive thing they own then its not suprising they get taken for a ride, especially as everyone knows a car requires regular maintenance as well as occasional emergency repairs.
Its the wifes until it breaks down.

Re: understanding a mechanics lingo ...not being funny there is only a small amount of jargon used by mechanics nowadays. im in the trade and we have to put everything in plain english so average joe can understand it doe my head in when i have to write fuel rail pressure relief valve blown instead of fprv blown adds time to the job if its got a big list
