Re: cheap mods?????Welcome to FOG.
Congratulations on the new motor - a good choice. What condition are the tyres in - not neccessarily cheap, but a good set of AT's (All Terrain) will suit some gentle/moterate green laning and play site activity and still give a reasonable ride on the tarmac. It's possible the the suspension may of sagged over the years - there are some "budget" methods listed in the Suspension section on how to replace the rear coil springs with something a little taller and/or stiffer and a free way to raise the front by as much as two inches. Front and rear recovery points are a definate requirement if you intend to try out the dirt/mud and it's always polite to have you own recovery rope. Hows that for starters ? Lawrence
Re: cheap mods?????thanx for the reply sounds good for a start. will have a look at the suspension posts now. the tyres on the car only have a couple of mill left on them. he gave me another 3 as spares not much more on them either.
Thanx, Andy
Re: cheap mods?????well go on ebay and you can pick up a nice set of mud's/ats for about £50-60
and then look at getting the extra sus hight CARTREK

Re: cheap mods?????Wotcha buddy and by far the best choice of Frontera in my opinion.
Bargains on Ebay for tyres can be had. You have to be patient and play the bidding game. I have just picked up 5 off All Terrain tyres for £60. All had at least 8-9mm tread on them. Though that didn't include delivery/collection. Body lift for £60-70 can be done so long as you do it yourself, and suspension lift for the price of a set of rear coils. Obvioulsy all of this does entail you being good and/or confident with a set of spanners. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: cheap mods?????thanx. think tyres are the first thing as am going to need then anyway. then the torsion bar wind up and a set of spacers for the rear, not to sure what to do regarding the ball joint flipp

Re: cheap mods?????I wouldn't worry about flipping the ball joints if you're only going to lift it a couple of inches.
Also, you can get a permanent sump drain from difflock that will make oil changes easier and cleaner. Don't grow up, just get bigger toys
