Hi guys, after a lil hunting around i have now brought myself a 1995 frontera sport 2.0. 88k on clock and only problem is fuel gauge doesnt work, is this a common problem? is there anything i should look at when i pick it up. How are they on fuel and howdoes it compare to the lwb 2.3td i had before.
Many Thanks
Ben

They aren't great on fuel. I have a diesel lwb and a petrol swb. Sport gets about 300-350 miles on a tank. Better to chuck about the twisty stuff than the lwb though. Just the usual stuff to look out for really. Timing belt, rust on sill just in front of rear arch, bonnet rust.... You'll love it mate. I'm not using my Sport right now as MOT ran on last week, and gonna convert her to a pick-up, but I REALLY miss her. My mate next door keeps asking me to sell her...NO CHANCE. When she goes, she'll go to the scrap yard in the sky. You'll love every minute of ownership. P.S. Put ya name on the owners register... viewtopic.php?f=15&t=38803

Fuel may be the sender unit, its in the tank, thet average 25-28 dependibg on what tyre n wheels, filter changes help an tyre pressure. Cant say had any issues as james said sills at rear arch and seat belt mounts/ rollbar. They not fast up hill but fine for nipping about, less room in boot and door one piece an open right way
