Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone on here who has offered help and advice this last week or so, my 2.5 was in limp mode and would not talk to the diagnostic machines that Id put on it.
After a lot of messing around this afternoon and some tips and advice on here it finally talked to the diagnostic tool and was storing 10 fault codes, once cleared she now runs as she should and is a pleasure to drive I can not tell you how relieved I am especially as I got frontera as a swap for my wifes close to knackered vectra but it was in limp mode when I got it and has never ran right untill today but it has only got 100,000 miles on it so I think I got a bargain!.
I just want to say what a great community of like minded people there is on here who seem only to happy to help each other and strangers/novices and newbies out.

How did you manage to get it to connect to the ecu ??

im still not entirely sure i just kept trying it i did clean up the plugs in the engine bay too but after much messing about it finally connected and was sorted in about 30 seconds. I think it was someone messing with the maf meter that had kicked it into limp mode.
