Re: 2.8TDLooks like maxxis mudders tyres, It could have a turbo pipe off or air in the fuel system (more likely) and just need bleeding, usually just by using the hand pump/primer on the fuel filter, could just even need a fuel filter.

Re: 2.8TDAs with anything like that you are taking a gamble, one question, have you checked the MOT online or get the seller to check it online as you need the number from the log book, that will tell you how long is left on it and what it last failed on.
But if you want it, its a good buy as they have shot through the roof recently in the bad weather. Ste

Re: 2.8TDWhat colour is the smoke? and rev hard, is that up to the 2000revs?
It could be return fuel pipe blocked from the pump. Ste

Re: 2.8TDThere are only 2 tools in life: Gaffa tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the gaffa tape, if it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
Re: 2.8TDGot to be worth a punt at that money. If it was on my doorstep I would have it. It can be heard running and you can drive it about to make sure the drivetrain is sound. Could be a simple fix, maybe a blocked particle filter in the exhaust system etc. 2 muds on the left and 2 ATs on the right is a strange combo, one set per axle would be better.

Re: 2.8TDI would say thats more than likely to be the actual turbo itself giving out. Thats what happened to mine just before it blew completely.

Re: 2.8TDGood thing is you can do a direct swap with any 3.1 Trooper as well for the turbo so not a big issue to replace. Good time to replace the exhaust manifold bolts that have gone missing over the years as well. All in all if you know what your doing can be fixed inside a day and if you have all the bits needed.
