This Government and its double standards yes its all very commendable fining the airports for being ill prepared for bad weather, but lets get their own house in order first, who fines the Governmental for the travel chaos on the roads

It's just like the rail network.
Privatise it so you can get rid of a lot of overpaid civil servants (by giving them bonuses to F off) then take money away from them when they most need it.
Don't fine them just make them spend the money where it is needed.
Same mentality as the "scrap your old car for a new one" policy.
Once they are dobbed in, by those who can afford a new car, they are scrapped while people who can't afford anything but a banger carry on polluting and endangering others.
Why can't they offer all those good cars as a swap for polluting bangers and move it all down the chain?
This same madness is over here too. Rows of 5yr old cars going to the scrappies while 20yr old rusty clunkers are still rolling.
Umm..silly me...fleet cars..big business..What a fool I am.

Where will the fines monies go? Wonder if those out of pocket get reimbursed prior to the govt taking their cut. Was watching the news this evening - will be interesting to see how Blizzard 2010 in the states pans out. One interviewee was puzzled because she didn't understand why her 'plane was grounded at the airport she was at which had no snow......now I wonder what the weather was like where her 'plane was to take her
