Re: Fuel pricesDisrupting fuel distribution is gonna have a really bad effect on 3.2V6 and 2.2dti owners...
V6 owners can only just make it between filling stations as it is, and if they ration fuel they aint gonna make it to the next one.... ...and dti owners will be changing injector pumps more frequently than they fill the washer bottle, if they have to run near empty as garages are restricting fuel amounts again.... Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Re: Fuel pricesYou right about them changing the law on blocking the refineries, Its pathetic we protest the goverment cr@p themselves and say we are terrorists for doing it.
We definatly need another protest, I like the idea of driving slowly in front of and to the side of fuel tankers its a good idea, then even if they send the army in again to take over they will still be held up Nearly Every thing in this country uses road haulage, it wouldn't take much to bring the country to a standstill then the goverment would have to do something about it. We just haven't got the balls to do anything about it O and when will people realise the goverment work for us not the other way round, If we dont like something then we CAN change it My frontera

Re: Fuel pricesI think the government haven't realised that the last blockades could and should have brought the country to a stand still.
I was all for the country to come to a stand still then and Im still in favour of it now. R.I.P Sable!(2005 to 2013)
Re: Fuel pricesI saw unleaded priced at 127.9p yesterday on a Shell Garage on the A303.

Re: Fuel pricesHi Guys, Going back a few years ago, not many, A mate of mine went to Ireland to live, He filled up with Diesel in Coventry, (it was empty) A Hire Van: It Cost £69:98 to top it up.. We Went to Ireland Via Stranraer Ferry and stopped till the sunday morning.. On The way back, (As we were in Southern Ireland) He Topped up again, it came to just under £40:00 for roughly the same amount.. It Made My Blood Boil.. Then to top it off, as we were Getting on the Ferry to come back to the UK, We were stopped and asked if we had any spare fuel onboard, as we would be charged the DUTY for the UK...
What a LOAD od theiving BAs````ds. We need another Oliver Cromwelll to sort this lot out, he marched into Parliament and said if they didn`t leave he would have them hung.. good for you mate. All polititions are in it what they can get out of you, They do not have any money in theory (Only Ours) and give it to every Begging Country in the World. How about Argentina, owed us billions, what Happened, they said if we didn`t give them any MORE MONEY they would NOT pay us what the owed in the first Place.. I Could go on all day, (But I won`t As I will sound like that shower..) Just some thoughts, To cheer you up for Christmas. Colin.UK. Decided to ADD This.. My Old Shogun 83 Plate Ran Beautifully on Veg oil for 3 Years, it RAN BETTER, Went through the MOT with almost "0" Emissions. !!!!!!!!.. got more to the Gallon and NEVER Failed me once, It Did Smell Different ,LOL.Then the Vegetable oil was the same price as Deisel, so there was no point, VEG ONLY, NOT SUN FLOWER OIL.... AND, You have to drop to quarter of a Tank in the winter,, it does Thicken up in cold weather, But lagged the Fuel filter to keep it warm... Never Effected that pump and look how OLD it was!!!!! ......TA..
Re: Fuel pricesVeg oil is all very good, but you have to have the pump to take it.
If you have ever experienced a waxed pump (and this pump was happy with WVO) its a pain in the behind to fix. Frontera pumps will eventually blow seals if not modified, some may get away with it for longer than others but eventually you will need and expensive fix with the Frontera. We all know the diesel engine was not developed to run on diesel, it was developed to run on peanut oil but that was before the more technical pump and injector systems where introduced and it was developed to run at higher tolerances. Re: Fuel pricesPetrol prices hit new record highs
Wintry weather, the struggling pound and rising oil prices have seen the price of petrol hit a new record high. yahoofinance * Topics: o Commodities James Andrews, 17:30, Thursday 16 December 2010 For the second time in less than a week the price of petrol has hit an all-time high. New figures from the AA show that, on average, petrol now costs 122.14 pence a litre in the UK, up from last week's figure of 121.76 pence. This latest price rise means over the last year, the cost of filling a 50-litre petrol tank has risen from £54.26 to £61.07. And worse is set to come for Britain's motorists, with a 2.5% hike in VAT being applied to petrol on 4 January, taking the average price to above 125 pence at current prices. The price of diesel is rising too - up 3.12 pence a litre to 126.19 pence in the last four weeks - but has not yet breached the record levels set in 2008. "This is a bleak mid-winter for millions of drivers," said AA president Edmund King. Oil prices have risen from $86 a barrel to more than $92 (£59) a barrel since the end of November, contributing to the rising fuel costs, but are still well short of their 2008 record high of $147 (£73) a barrel. New record prices have been set thanks to increases in fuel duty and taxes since 2008 (which now make up more than 75p for every litre of petrol you buy) and difficulties in supply as petrol tankers have struggled in the freezing weather. "It comes at a particularly bad time for drivers who have struggled with appalling winter weather and often seen their fuel drain away while stuck in snow-bound traffic jams," King said as prices hit record highs last week. "Our only hope is that either oil and fuel markets settle back down or the pound strengthens against the dollar. Until then, it is an even more uncomfortable ride for families trying to keep their cars on the road," the AA added. R.I.P Sable!(2005 to 2013)
Re: Fuel pricesIf we really want to get our own way then i think we should have a FIRE SALE
Re: Fuel pricesI remember years ago when the lorry drivers did a rolling blockage along the A40 towards the M40, I managed to get caught up in it but for once I didn't mind getting home from work late. We as a country need to club together to get the governments attention, how we do this i'm not quite sure, blockades? boycotting certain suppliers?
Maybe it's time to re-do my CBT and get a C90 for poodling about on Edit: Or a quad
