Halfords Trade Card

Hi,

I got a Halfords Trade Card on the back of my NVQ 3 in aeronautical engineering, I know Halfords is a little bit generic in its products but in the current economic climate everything helps, I reckon to get anywhere between 10% - 60% off stuff with it. Jut thought I'd pass the info on for anyone who does have an NVQ or similar in any engineering discipline who may not be aware of this. Always handy for those last minute Sunday afternoon jobs etc.

Got one myself, I went in with a shed load of car part and tool recites (they knew I worked in an office across the road ) but told them I fix cars in my spare time got my card in ten minutes no questions, that was a couple of years ago.
Oil and bulbs and some tools are the best buys for discounts.

Its handy when most factors are shut on a Sunday and they are open and open till 20.00 in the week.

... and their "professional" range of tools hold a lifetime guarantee. I believe the "professional" tools are just re-badged sealy so good quality ... well I have never had any problem and I abuse them often.

Sorry to laugh but felt the need to share this with you seeing as the post was started...Ehhmm..I got my Trade card even though i didn't work in the trade...Yep i had a mate who used to work in the store at that time deal with my trade card application and he putt down i worked for Hancock Ford It was a case of its not what you know ...Ohh He don't work there now but i can't think why

I find the best discounts are given with items actually badged 'Halfords'.
General stuff like filters, oil, brake pads etc. normally come in at a reasonable discount.
Lent my card to a mate for a new battery a couple of weeks OK and he got 45% off, which put the final purchase price well under what other local factors were offering.
The only bad experience I had was buying a rotor arm for brothers Rover 400. Replaced with the new Halfords one and car wouldn't go, dug the old back out of the dustbin, put that one back in and the car fired up first go. Have heard that Halfords branded high voltage electrical items are crap.

Stand there with a load of welding gear, as they sell the stuff, get your card and put the gear back on the shelf

Ive got a trade card, its really handy bulbs are ever so cheap 2.99 down to 39p with the trade car, well worth having . I bought a set of pads for a peugeot saved nearly £20, id rather have the money then give it to them

Well nipped in today with my papers to prove was time served mechanic 5 min later trade card in hand easy as that. Priced up a set of pads and discs for my brothers V6 SRI Vectra and was surprised at the price was very good pads were £7 cheaper than the local factor and the vented discs were £48 the pair.
