Fuel pricesThis is getting pathetic now, just when the fuel companies recently produced record profits prices are getting back up to record levels and the Government VAT is going to push up prices even further in three weeks time

Re: Fuel pricesNoticed the increase last night - garage has been out of fuel for about a week, now the price has shot up at least 3p per litre (over 12p per gallon in old money). Was wondering if they are making up for the past weeks lost profits.

We are too soft in this country, we get shafted all the time and yet we manage to double our support to other countries

Re: Fuel pricesGas prices going up too. When service engineer was carrying out yearly check he was encouraging me to upgrade to new boiler. Maybe 10% more fuel efficient - will cost a couple of grand to install. How long to recoup the costs? um, well, um, got a point there.
OK, keeping options open, wood burning stove with boiler sounds very interesting! Horrible dilemna over the horizon - buying fuel to keep family warm or buying fuel for Fronty. Solution - keep family warm and have Fronty as a garden ornament. Kodiak Transglobe 2.0 SWB

Re: Fuel pricesI'm seriously thinking about buying a diesel (any diesel) that can run on veg oil without killing the pump. I know a guy that I bought some landrovers off was running his K plate Trooper on it and had been for months - the smell out of the exhaust was odd
As far as fuel for the home, I've got a woodburner and 6 open fires , but more importantly a free supply of wood ![]()
Re: Fuel pricesA few years ago i had a Honda 90,the thing would do 70mpg i used it for work, and popping to the shops.the only trouble,it was darn dangerous.
After countless near misses and going over a car bonnet i confind it to the garage. Thats where it stayed until i sold it,but now with the price of fuel i think to myself, whats a few scratches,a bump here and there,it was a price worth paying. it kept me from the hands of those greedy, thieving, rip off merchants, THE OIL COMPANYS Tucker...2.2 DTI Irmscher.
Re: Fuel pricesthe thing is with our cars it costs £30 more to fill it up now than it did 2 years ago, pair that with the economy and they're just taking the pi55
Re: Fuel pricesThink yourselves lucky. My Insignia averages 22mpg and only uses 98 octane fuel or higher, so I'm limited to Shell Optimax or Tesco Momentum. £85 of fuel gets me 320 miles, if I'm lucky.
Re: Fuel pricesin gib fuel is 84p for petrol and 92p for diesel it was 67p a ltr 18 months ago,

Re: Fuel pricesThe Price of Petrol
Where does the money you pay for a litre of petrol really go? Do you know what you are actually paying for? If a litre of unleaded cost 119.9p, it would be split in the following way: Price of petrol breakdown diagram ![]() And if it was diesel at a cost of 120.9p, it would split as follows: Price of diesel breakdown diagram ![]() R.I.P Sable!(2005 to 2013)
