Re: warning to driverswhat are you meant to do about the snow that settles on the roof whilst your standing in traffic queues caused by the snow ? what are hgv drivers expected to do, perhaps their employers will offer to buy a set of step ladders for the entire workforce &then expect them to climb up & clear their trailors during their breaks ? im sure health & safety would advise against such actions during the present conditions
in times when the countrys struggling to keep roads open surely the police have more meaningful jobs to do rather than to try & bump up the coffers for the force, ive never heard a bigger pile of bulls..t WHY AINT I GOT AN ALL SINGING & ALL DANCING SIGNATURE LIKE BOXY & DRIFTY ?

Re: warning to driverswell i have had 2 windscreans fitted in the past due to snow/ice flying of the roof of cars and vans and it was frightening
snow and the lawthe rule does exist and here it is a direct copy/paste and highlighted in red:
229 Before you set off *you MUST be able to see, so clear all snow and ice from all your windows *you MUST ensure that lights are clean and number plates are clearly visible and legible *make sure the mirrors are clear and the windows are demisted thoroughly *remove all snow that might fall off into the path of other road users *check your planned route is clear of delays and that no further snowfalls or severe weather are predicted [Laws CUR reg 30, RVLR reg 23, VERA sect 43 & RV(DRM)R reg 11] £60 fine& 3 points on your license beer women 4x4
not always in that order
Re: snow and the lawso somebody actually thought about
Re: snow and the lawNow that's checking your facts...and then some.
Good man! If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: warning to driversHi all.
Im sorry but I have to agree with fogman on this, but saying this but I see some peoples views as well. What about the buses, with snow on their roofs as she had severe chest pains and I didnt have time to clear the snow off my fronties roof,I think clearing the snow off the roof is a good idea but to get a £60 fine and 3 points on your licence is abit harsh though,I think the coppers should issue warnings instead. The police should be watching out for drivers using mobile phones whilst driving in these conditions. R.I.P Sable!(2005 to 2013)
