Had a bit of fun this morning.
Driving to work and a hill in barton was shut to traffic (except 4x4's) so made it up that with no effort. As I got on the round about near the bridge the radio said it was down to one lane. Got on the slip road and radio comes on again it is now closed (oh joy!!). Anyway no way back out so went down the bottom. Turns out it was a stuck vehicle (the bridges gritting tractor
I'd already towed someone out in our village so I cruised up the outside lane to see if I could help. Really friendly police who were seriously glad of the help as there green oval (brand new disco hehehe) didn't have it's tow bar on and there rope was a bit naff lol.
Anyway spent 3 hours towing all the cars off and getting them far enough on the bridge to get them going. Truck was FLAWLESS!!!!!
The lorry drivers were amused as to how capable it was and how my old fronty was doing a better job than the disco.
I drew the line at trying to pull a 40 tonne lorry though hehehehe.
Got the traffic flowing and the bridge was re-opened. Go the frontera!!
Feel sorry for police and all the other emergency services around here as they must have been stretched to the very limit so a bit of help from FOG was mucho appreciated. Got a friendly wave and thanks from the police and went on into work.
Top day really lol
Anyone else doing this sort of stuff??
Cheers
Alan
