MY FRONTERA DOESNT DRIVE RIGHT !!!Sorry not sure where to post this as no idea what the problem is .....n reg 2.8td frontera swb all four tyres are AT ones both rear are the same but the front two are two different makes entirley ,they are all same size though being 255/65/16 which have 32 psi in the rear and 30 psi in the front as i towed a trailer on the weekend with it and was advised from previous post on here thats the right pressure.Anyway its the way that it drives that i cant get my head around ,thats why iv mentioned the tyres ,as my partner as had a good look at it and doesnt think its anything mechanical and hes quite handy with cars. Its really hard to describe what it actually does but will try my best as really need some answers. When driving along at 30 it can seem to vere about somewhat sometimes to the middle of the road other times to the pavement side it gives me the feeling that its sliding about when it isnt really. Its definatley worse at 30 it feels more stable if driven around town at 25 in 3rd gear and is also better the more over 30 you go too so it doesnt get worse as it goes faster also need to point out I have never drove a 4x4 before of any type so have no comparision, it behaves the same wether towing or not ,,,any ideas please.
Re: MY FRONTERA DOESNT DRIVE RIGHT !!!It sounds like the steering box could need tightening up as in this thread.
viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3862 But also check your shock absorbers and ball joints. Where about in the NW are you? Ste

Re: MY FRONTERA DOESNT DRIVE RIGHT !!!Thanks Drift need to sort it coz it makes for a bit of a scarey drive
Are all terrain tyres ok then? as I have no intention of going off road or would normal road tyres make any improvement do you think ? also does the fact that not all four tyres are off same manufacturer have any relevance? thanks again
Re: MY FRONTERA DOESNT DRIVE RIGHT !!!If the tyres are the same size and the car is behaving like this in a straight line its unlikely to be the tyres, I have has all terrain tyres and now have mud tyres and they car doesn't show the characteristics yours is showing, it could be as simple as the tracking being out but its worth poking about underneath and checking out the visual stuff first and my save £35 on tracking.
