Need some adviceI will be looking at getting a lwb frontera in the near future, but i am not sure which one reliability wise to go for. Not to worried about fuel costs as i would like to get a 3.2 petrol really, but there does not seem to be many around. I have seen a few nice diesel ones. what are parts prices like if things go wrong with a diesel. Any advice is appreciated
Re: Need some adviceEven if your not worried about fuel costs, I would still heartily recommend a LWB 2.8TD. Indestructable engine, returns about 32-35mpg on average, one of the grunties engines in the range, and loads of room. My personal preference is also the series A. Less to go wrong, and I prefer the lines and edges over the curves of the B series.
Your biggest problem with the two engine choices I have mentioned is he 2.8TD was only in the Series A, and the 3.2 V6 was only in the Series B. So you will have a dilemma over shape and engine choices ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: Need some adviceive got to agree with above the 2.8 esespecially if your considering some offroading as in a 2nd vehicle , but if you want a nice squeeky clean everyday drive & moneys no object for fuel etc then its got to be the v6
