EGR valve

Postby Lee_R on Sun Nov 07, 2010 2:33 pm

Afternoon all. Stuck this in 2.3 last week but must have gotten teh wrong spot as I got a few view and no response so I thought I'd try here instead.

EGR valves - I understand the basic principle (reduce amount of unburnt HCs in exaust) and think I can see why removing them would potentially improve power (higher %age of O2 in intake gas). My questions were how easy is it to do on a 2.3 (do you have to alter anything else), and are there any downsides I should consider (reduced mpg, engine wear, emmisions issues etc)?

Many thanks for any tips and advice.
