Help requested - gearbox change

I am asking for some volunteer help, in the Midlands.

Alfie has kindly offered me the use of a workshop in the Black Country, although I will supply coffe and choccy buscuits if we can use his kettle.

The aim would be to remove the gearbox and flywheel, replace rear crank oil seal, replace clutch, replace gearbox and if possible, replace rear diff seal.

I've not done any of the above before, so would welcome some experienced finger pointing and a helping hand.

Might be the weekend (Sunday) of the 16/17 or possibly 23/24 October (Alfie to advise)

Workshop is well equipped with tools, air, gas, FLT etc.

Crank rear seal purchased - check
Clutch kit recovered from back of garage - check (a bit rusty, but should clean up)
Alfies garage location in sat nav - check
Chocolaty snacks purchased (to accompany coffee) - check.
Spare gearbox put in back of truck - check

Aiming to be there for 9am

Dont forget engine oil, clutch fluid, gearbox oil, locktight and exhaust paste incase you have to drop the exhaust......and stereo code so you dont have to drive home in silence after dissing the battery

Sorry Truggs, looks like the laning trip is going ahead so I won't be there to give you a hand.

It is a fairly easy job, just watch out of the weight of the flywheel..it a bit of a suprise, a helping hand will serve you well at that point...be carefull with the new crank seal, oil it first and make sure it's flat..

why exactly am I telling you this?....you one of the fronty leg ends..you'll be fine

Theres always room for a stereo...you could always hang it with a couple of exhaust clamps on that plastic guttering you have got going on inside

shouldnt need clutch fluid should you? just unbolt the slave and tuck it out the way?
