Back after a long holiday!!!Sorry ive been away for soooo long, my poor old fronty died on me several months ago, and because of alot of factors its just sat on the drive ever since. Anyways, to cut along story short im looking to get her back on the road, which is going to either need a new injector pump, or proberbly a recon engine, her present one has got 570,000 miles on the clock, so dont really see too much point in sinking a large amount of cash into her. any suggestions on where to source a recon engine or a blinding deal on a injector pump would be really much appreceited.
Really good to be back and catch up on whats been going on. 2000 2.2 tdi limited LWB.

Re: Back after a long holiday!!!570k ?
That's really impressive. B series Dti's for spares or repair are pretty common on the bay matey
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!As normal for me its sods law that there doesnt seem to be any at the moment with a whole engine. Any idea's if the 2.2dti engine was used in any other cars?

If he doesnt sell, which he is unlikely to do at that price, he'll break it
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!The x22dth engine was also used in omega as well as a few others......
Good luck with it and welcome back....................
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!Actually I just spotted the V grille on that one in the link I posted, which may well be the later engine.
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!Be prepared to wait if you want the good un at the right price.
If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!Gareth,
Glad you had a good holiday, did you go any where nice. As for the fronty, I would just scrap it if I was you, PS CAN I HAVE THE WINCH BUMPER FIRST Its been a damm good car to you its worth getting the engine sorted or even rebuilt. I think you can get the pumps for the X22DTH engine for arount £4 - 500 if you search thru the posts. 2000 Frontera 2.2 DTi Ltd

Re: Back after a long holiday!!!Good to hear from you again Gareth. We had a picnic weekender down the woods this weekend and was only saying it would be good to see some of you original guys again. You wouldn't recognise the place now because Greg has been let loose with a digger on a couple of occasions.
Since las year, we've had some newer members who have joined the party and now got a really good nucleus of mates, old and new, enjoying the playground that we have all built. Good luck with the search, and if you need a hand with the transplant, shout. Pete
Re: Back after a long holiday!!! Welcome back mate, you've been missed up the wood Going from what I know of your car, I'd say keep looking for a breaker, and replace the injector pump. Prior to this you've had an amazing run with the car, and if memory serves me it's only just had it's first clutch replaced???? That alone says how well it's done. There's a B series up the road from me being broken. I'll find out on Monday if it's a petrol or diesel and let you know by pm how much we wants for the pump if its diesel. Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!Thanks everyone for the replys, Im really looking forward to getting back up the woods, and playing in the dirt!!!!!
I think I will proberbly go down the lines of an exchange injector pump from Diesel Bobs. The engine on this old girl has been very very well looked after (unlike the bodywork!!!), and a car thats done a 5th of the mileage of this one, proberbly has more wear and tear!!! I will keep you all posted, and hopefully very soon, catch up with a few of you. 2000 2.2 tdi limited LWB.
Re: Back after a long holiday!!!Hey Gareth....you just missed the weekender
Glad you are getting the old girl sorted, will be great to see ya again... If you get really stuck and arent planning to use this as a daily driver again, I have a pair of 6pot 3.3 diesel patrol engines than are looking for a home...they will pull a house down and only need about 4 wires connecting to make em work! Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()

I think im going to keep her as my daily run around, and see if I can break some sort of record for most miles driven in a 4x4!!! lol
