Went for my first play in the mud today. I stopped, put in neutral, selected 4h then drove forwards, 4x4 light came on. On my way out I stopped, selected 2wd (after much struggle!!) and reversed back about 3 metres. Is all that correct? Reason I ask is that the truck felt more responsive on the way home, so wasn't sure if hubs were still locked on? 4x4 light is off tho

How come the truck seemed to be pulling better on way home then? Was very noticeable.

I know I'm straying off topic a bit - but after playing in the mud down the woods, I love the sound of large lumps of mud being thrown from out of the tyre treads up under the rear wheel arches as I accelerate up the lane when leaving the farm entrance.
