erm.. none - ever - Fronty drivers dont make schoolboy errors..

theres's a "Friend" however that helped change a starter motor on a Clio (French car :axe: ), put new one in, tried to start the car and nothing - dead, the owner was in the car turning the key - nothing, not a click - whirr - nada.

Took 'knackered' unit back to the autofactors who tested it, nothing wrong - took it back - refitted it and spotted that "someone" hadnt reconnected the battery

I once decided to do a pick up conversion, named "MUD MUNCHA" (use search button), it had an LPG conversion fitted.

Now it was'nt road legal, so there was no petrol in it, just LPG, so whilst I was working on it in the drive every few days I would fire it up and leave it ticking over for a whilem to keep the battery charged.

Anyway, one day it just died, and would start come hell or high water.

So been as I had an identical 2.0 ltr sport at the side of it that run like a dream, I decided to start to swap over the companants that cuase it to not start, one by one.

MAF, Crank Sensor, Throttle Postion sensor, dizzy cap, rotor arm, coil pack, etc, etc. with each one changed I tried to start it, Still no joy, after several hours changing things over I gave up, and swapped everything back.

Did a code read on the ECU, just came up with the usual fault, code 32, cranksensor low voltage, which is normal if the engine not running.

Left if for a few days, went back out, fingers crossed, tried to start it, still no bloodly joy !!!

Any way, by chance, ALEX, was popping over that day, so I thought 2 heads are better than one, i'll get him to have a look.

He arrived, popped the kettle on, told him my problems and what was his first reaction ..............

Has it go gas in ????

Well at this point, a very large penny dropped as ALEX went to the rear of the truck and proceded to shake a VERY EMPTY Lpg Tank, then points out the guage telling you how much gas is in the tank, was, yes you guessed it ..........

SHOWING RED, EMPTY !!!!

Moral of this story, I'm a Numpty, and should always check the simpliest things first !!!   :oh yer: :oh yer:

Went away for a few days camping last week, so decided I'd better make sure I had jack/wheelbrace etc etc ect. Looked in manual and wheel brace and winder for the jack should be behind a panel in the boot. Guess what ? No bloody wheel brace or jack winder. Reluctantly had to take my trolly jack / breaker bar and socket in an already over loaded car. Was only on the final day when I was reading the manual whilst eating a bag of chips by the seaside that the bits I was missing were actually under the rear seat on a LWB and I had been reading the 3 door section of my manual :axe: :axe: :axe:

Was at work last night at about 11.30 in a shopping centre in Maidstone when I had to go down to the loading bays to get some equipment
from the van. To get to the loading bays you have to go down 3 floors in a lift, these lifts are the industrial type where you have to close the
outer and inner door yourself. Anyway I got what I needed from the van and made my way back to the lift with armfuls of stuff. I got back in the
lift and closed the doors and pressed the button, nothing! So I thought maybe the doors werent closed properly, so I opened and closed them again.
Still nothing, so I put down all the stuff I was carrying and gave the doors a really hard slam shut and only then did I realise that I was pressing
the button for the floor I was already on.... :oh yer: :oh yer: :oh yer:

When I got my Fronty I noticed I only had locking nuts on the back wheels. After a couple of months I remembered about it and bought a new set of lock nuts as I didn't have key to remove the old ones.

I spent a couple of days removing one of the old lock nuts. It was a nightmare due the the depth of the hole in the alloy, I tried drilling, chiselling, Dremelling, shouting, swearing and staring at it very hard and eventually got it off. I had wrecked the stud though.

I sat down for a well deserved coffee and a smoke and went to get a lighter from the door pocket. It was there I found the locking key socket thingy I had put in there when I first got the car so I didn't lose it, I'd forgotten all about it   :rotfl:

I've still to replace that stud someday :)
