Hello all. Here's the idea. I was wondering which model Frontera is the best or most popular. A or B series, petrol or diesel, and what engine size. Also 3 or 5 door. I'm sure to get some conflicting opinions, but I'm curious to what everyone thinks.
I have a 98 2.0 Sport A series. I wish I had a 5dr B series V6. BuT I don't. Hey ho...and away we go.........

All depends what you want it for. I had a 20L swb sport up until about 5 years ago and now got the lwb 2.8. I loved the sport only a baby came along and it was a pain but I was not going to get rid of the car, unfortunately it was vandalised and written off. Within a week I had the lwb 2.8 and have not looked back, funny now as the family never use my car so the size isnt needed but it does feel a lot more sure footed on and off road in comparison to the sport and engine wise.....its ermm a lot more torque and I notice it more on steep descents with engine breaking, just love it. The A series is my favourite simpleish to fix and simpler to modify All that said I wouldnt hesitate to have a Sport again, weird but there you go

2.8 in either swb or lwb i have the shorty but wouldn't pass up the chance for a lwb and on a wider note i would go a series in any engine over a b lot less electronics and sensors to go wrong
It was just an old worn out jeep Rusty old floor boards Hot on my feet

OMG what a question,
well having had the 2L swb, 2.3TD lwb, the 2.8TD swb and lwb, and now the 3.2V6 lwb,
the 2L was fun for throwing about, the 2.3TD was just a work horse, and it is still going today, the 2.8TD lwb, only had it a short while, but seamed capable, the 2.8TD swb, was great for off roading but i did not like it on the road, seamed to lose, the 3.2V6, is a beast of a machine, but i find it does not want to crawl when off roading, (could just be me)
mine has to be the lot, as they are all frontera's
but if i had to choose, it would be the 2.8TD swb, (the Greene Meany)
