Re: towingsorry no would never tow a automatic look it up on goggle as a plant fitter all my heavy machines are automatic can even tow them
and have worked on many cars golden rule do not tow automatic look in its hand book you can disconnect propshaft and try it that way Step 1 Connect and lock the trailer to the towing vehicle. Drive the front wheels onto the trailer and engage the wheel lock. Pull the wheel lock over the rear of the wheels and use a padlock to secure them. Step 2 Wrap a ratchet tie-down strap around the right lower control arm and pull the strap to the left side of the trailer. Connect the hook at each end of the strap to the anchor point on the trailer. The wheel connects to the lower control arm. Step 3 Wrap the other ratchet strap around the left lower control arm. Pull the strap to the right side of the trailer and connect its hooks to the anchor point on the trailer. Step 4 Tighten both ratchet straps by pulling the handle on the ratchet in an up and down motion until both straps are tight. The straps should make an X shape. Step 5 Place the transmission in neutral and activate the emergency lights. Re: towingDid you know that the early cast iron chrysler torqueflight the A-488 had a front and a rear pump and so could be towed and even bump/push started. Not alot of people know that!. Replaced in 1962 by the legendary A727 torqueflight, a damm fine mighty auto gearbox.
Bye went the rear pump, never to be seen again! Last edited by ghosthunter on Tue Jul 13, 2010 9:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: towingIf you have a towboy you just strap the steering wheel in a straight line; then wheech the back off the deck and off you go.
If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
