Newbie in Norfolk needs help !!

Hi all,

New to the group and recently picked myself up a 97 Sport that needed some work doing which I thought I could do myself. Not being to spanner minded I managed to get the pads and discs all round done of which I was immensly chuffed off thanks to the excellant 'how to' on here. The next task was to change the exhaust manifold gasket which again easy enough but have since discovered 3 broken studs, problem is I can't get them out, mate had a go with a stud extractor to no avail. Would rather not take the head off looks to scary for me !!, wondering if anybody local could help, coffee, bacon rolls will be avaible of course and I would re-imburse petrol costs.

Welcome to the forums and well done on getting stuck in and having a go at DIY car maintenance.

Thanks Lawerence I'll bear that in mind. Gonna try keep this local as I gotta feeling the head will have to come off as it is a bit of a fiddel to get too one of the broken studs with a drill or anything else for that matter.

hi amos, theres not too many norfolk members who post regurarly so i would suggest you post a question in the engine section where you will be bound to get more advice reguarding extracting broken studs etd
