Not men... Gods!Has anybody else noticed that the other people on here are knowledgeable in the extreme.
I know I am a newbie, but some of the posts on here make me feel ashamed. I'm still stuck on what wheels to get (I know I want black ones). L
Re: Not men... Gods! Many of us are mechanically inclined and have owned our trucks for quite a while so know them intimately. Some are more knowledgeable then others but a lot of problems are fairly common with some specific to each model.
Dont put yourself down as most problems can be overcome if you know how to wield a spanner and we all have to start somewhere. many tasks can seem daunting at first but once you fix something you will wonder how you never did it before.
Re: Not men... Gods!My first post here was when I bought my V6 about 3 ish years ago. Never done anything more complex than oil filter till then, only had a handfull of cheap spanners and got ripped off by every garage. The confidence you can get from here, knowing someone is on the end of a phone, the interenet and even willing to come over if you stuff it will encourage you to do more jobs yourself. Then in time you will have the knowledge and experience to help others.

Re: Not men... Gods!If your prepared to put the effort in and read current and previous posts which are relevant to your model of Fronty you can learn lots & lots.
The people who run this site have put loads of information on here, you have just got to search it out My advice is don't be put off - and get stuck in ....... Good luck My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ?

Re: Not men... Gods!Hiya.. and welcome to FOG!
This weeks special offer is a Free padded cell with every Fronty Purchased The guys (and gals!) on here have given me a great deal of help, and some fun days out (SE Picnic's). You cant go wrong, the advice is free, impartial and believe it or not - correct Ive had a couple of issues with mine (1995 2.0 sport) and the questions have been answered quickly and the advice is second to none. No question asked is too silly (and Ive asked some seriously silly ones.. As for Tyres / Rims.. Ive got Maxxis Buckshot Mudders on mine.. and they are fab! Bit noisy approaching the sound barrier (well 70-80 ish) but good all round.. see here http://www.fronteraowners.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=29229 And http://www.4x4tyres.com do some leurverly Black Modular Steel 8 spokes... Re: Not men... Gods! Thanks for the confidence boost everyone, it's made me see things a bit clearer, put it into perspective.
My first task that I have assigned myself is to remove the towing ball thing hanging out the back of my Harlot!! Any advice/warnings etc? Please!? L
Re: Not men... Gods!If your removing the electrics make sure you tape the ends of each individual wire before tying them up out of the way as they can cause heaps of electrical gremlins.
Re: Not men... Gods!i have found this by far one of the best forums on the internet
Re: Not men... Gods!I agree maxlee. It seems that if it isn't on here somewhere, then it probably doesn't exist in the first place!

Re: Not men... Gods!As said above loads of times....there is a mass of really handy info on here....dont forget the search box up in the top corner and the wiki too for info gathering...
Have you got your towbar off yet?....best advise there is I think loads of wd40 on everything that needs to come undone for a couple of days before, and then a set of impact sockets and a decent 1/2" breaker bar... Removing the tow bar will work wonders for your departure angle when off road.... and (shameless plug alert) when are you going to bring it down to the woods to test that 2nd gearstick out matey... Badboy comes down from up your way, so I can see a 10/4 rubber duck Fronty CONVOY coming on!!! Guarantee you will have a good day mate, go on treat yourself and meet the rest of the SE massive!!!! Check the link in my sig below....and see what ya fronty is missing out on!!! Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()
Re: Not men... Gods!no one likes us we dont care
Re: Not men... Gods!still haven't got it off yet hehe, and my wrench remains as pure as the day it was made lol.
I have found out a little bit though, I found four bolts (two at each end), and that it is called a brink. it also has an id plate, but I haven't put the numbers and that in my book yet. my shed's coming along as well! L
Re: Not men... Gods!If you remove the towbar............what are you going to bang your shins on when taking things outa the boot...........???
even a man who is pure at heart...........
