Re: renault kangoo speedo not working any ideasSWMBO has a kangoo as her weekend car / taxi / van / drunk tank / shopping wagon, its a 02 plate 1.9 dci - but its french (apologies in advance), the wiring is not as good as it could be (think colour blind British Leyland - on a friday afternoon- after a works Do lunch), check for clean (uncorroded) connections on the back of the dash (known fault - cuppa falls over into dash), worn loom (common) or if your really unlucky - its a VSS sensor fault(see below - its a renault AKA costa packet to fix).
Start by checking the fuses - start easy... if no joy with a popped fuse.. Fronties are a joy and a challenge to fix.. kangaroo's are a knuckle skinning nightmare - and get a good set of torx bits, packet of plasters, plenty of absorbant material and a swear box.. Renaults are not fun to work on (pet hate), the torx bits are to lose, or strip head out of the last bolt, the plasters to stick the bits of your fingers back together and the absorbants so you dont bleed in the fronty on the way to A&E, swear box is for the holiday next year! Just dug out original bill.. (god i'm sad - i've kept it for 6 years!) Mill Lane Renault Full service - inc clutch, OSR wheel bearing, cam belt, £1648.72 investigation of non working speedometer / rev counter £513.17 turns out it was a '"[F8Q 662] fault" investigated and rectified' Maldives / St Lucia / Dominican Republic is nice apparently - swear box at the ready... John You cant polish a t*rd..
But you can roll it in glitter if its broken - fix it if it isnt - mod it!
