Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes reviewBrilliant day again aided by the rain leaving us alone so we could get on and enjoy ourselves. Mind you, the bucket loads adsorbed through the previous week did generate a real depth of mud for us to play in. Blinding day rounded off with a bit of laning in our own back yard.
The only downer was Trev's motor blew an oil pipe from the turbo, which mean't he had to be transported home via the AA flat back recovery lorry. Hope you got home alright Trev and it does prove to be a simple fix. Good food again, cooked to perfection by our resident chief Steve. Just a few pics from me on this outing and one vid because I left my replacement batteries at home (brain in the glove box). These stills are mainly of Greg proving the laws of gravity can be reversed with persistance. I reckon Tom can be your witness on this one. And the king of the hills with the victory smile The previous run Steve giving his lot Gareth getting a helpful shove from Greg And finally Greg on a later run I'll try and upload to vid on another reply
Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes reviewHi all,
Great big to everyone, extra big Hi to Greg, Sal and the workparty that have put in the graft to make the day what it was. As always we (Martha and I) had a great day, some 'entertaining' moments.. and as always everyone was chatty and friendly! My highlights were the denting of my offside rear 1/4 panel (nothing ignoring it or a sticker cant sort out) and cracking rear NS light cluster after a sideways shimmy in some slippery stuff and a loving caress with one of those wooden things that have been carelessly left lying around... tree's i think they are called. Steve rescued me in the Frog... only to get a 'little bit' stuck later on the horseshoe and had a quite intimate cuddle with a now ex tree (the GregSaw to the rescue).. i dont think theres any photographs of it as it - I Might be wrong... it was after all right next to basecamp, straight after lunch, when everyone was just about to go out for the afternoon slippy slide ( Top Cooking Steve.. you were first back!). Lots of digging, pushing, pulling and lifting.. some fun recoveries, Martha didnt shed a tear of coolant all day I had my concerns as she sprang a leak which I fixed.. and then sprang another which I couldnt find last week.. Nice to put faces to names.. Big Hi To Houndog (we were at the same school!) Mapracing (get it on the road and come and play!) Tom & Family - many thanks for the stickers.. when it stops raining -Martha's going to get adorned.. Gareth with his Winch (envy ) Bobbins etc etc etc Ive only got a couple of pics, I'll post them up later One quick question.. WHENS THE NEXT ONE John You cant polish a t*rd..
But you can roll it in glitter if its broken - fix it if it isnt - mod it!
Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes review it was good to see you all and sell you raffle tickets and stickers and then have a good day at the same time but a special thanks to Sally & Greg for all the work they have put in
Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes reviewI got some video of the Steve V's tree, will post later....

Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes reviewwhat a blinding day out!!!!! great company, good weather and loads a mud
A very big thanks to greg and sal for organising it and for all the hard work they have put in. Also to Marco-Piere.....top nosh dude. I took my mate with me who normally see's ofroad on 2 wheels and he loved it. The site is excellent and the mud made it very interesting, so much so that the SE woods have the honour of being the 1st place to get Angelina well and truly stuck. The only damage i got was a blown seal on the power steering pump but it seems to have resealed itself later badboy took us on a few lanes, thanks very much mate, we really enjoyed them and such a petty country_est's truck decided to empty its entire oil contents on the road to bring an end to the day, hope you got home safe and that its an easy fix. (and hey 4x4bobby, i got my new spanners dirty lol) Me, my mate mark and gareth decide to finish the day in the pub where the AA truck came to, with a nice pint of Guinness and then I learned of Gareth's truck having a genuine 500,000 miles on the same engine surely that truck should be in the Vauxhall Heritage Center along with his Vectra with, wait for it........... 1.1 million miles on the clock. who said VX engines were crap Anyway thanks again and roll on next time SIZE DOES MATTER!! Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes reviewTom said I was a nutter......so unfair and inaccurate

Re: 27th Feb Day in the Woods & Lanes reviewgreat day out was had by all! excellent turn out with some new faces to the site - it was great to meet you all.
the laning was a nice end to the day and the puddles look deeper in the dark dont they paul?? well done greg on the various new bits and diversions and big thanks for the little trip out to collect the tiga tape - damn those tyres are good and the trees solid caleb had a great day too and said it was nice to meet Trev's boy i hope they both got home without too much problem. seems that as fast as we can cook the bbq food more arrives - trust everyone is feeling ok - i'm not used to cooking in hells kitchen without my bandana the fog frog seems to have escaped relatively ok except my new door adjustment and for the record i wasnt stuck i was using the tree to stop me sliding down the hill while i was parked watching you lot finishing ya lunch thanks to paul for leading the laning and ending up so close to M20 so even me and Kel could find our way back! look forward to seeing you all again soon. well done greg and sal once again - just remember dont go down to the woods on your own after dark again - you might not get out next time
