A most productive day, well done and thanks guys (and sal).....
Kel's 2.8 lwb now has coil spacers in and torsion bars wound up...
wilberforces 2.8 shorty now has manual hubs, coil spacers in and (much to his disgust) the torsion bars wound up...and new drivers seat...
The FOG-bog now has less holes in the floor, partition walls in, just needs toilet doors now which will be done wednesday...
Was bloody cold though!!!
Tap had frozen up, and everyone thought I was daft defrosting it with a hairdryer...
Jim got "had" a good un when we were doing his hubs....
I told him to make sure the AVM logo was horizontal as it looked better than being at an angle, when he was putting the covers on em...and he fell for it, took it back off and turned it round to the next hole so the Logo was level...he only twigged when I said the same thing when he was reassembling the 2nd one, that the logo on the hub goes round with the wheel.....hahaha gotcha Jimbo!!!
Got his spacers in and his car looked like a dragster, would need to look out of the sunroof to see where you were going...but he flatly refused to tweak the torsion bars today...but I sneaked and done em when he wasnt looking with Kel blocking Jim from seeing me...he caught me when I had half done the 2nd side...
Made the "Ultimate screwdriver" but no-one wanted to use it....tis right powerful a 1/2drive air impact wrench with a screwdriver attachment welded into a 1/2 drive socket!!! Girls eh!!!
Unleashed the air nailer...a wicked little tool that makes light work of attaching things to people....Jim took it for a spin too...tis fun...
Sal cleaned all the inside of our 2.8lwb...can see out the windows now! Cheers babe...
Big thanks to...
Sal for the constant supply of teas and coffees and keeping me under control...
Pete for the timber, and his wood working tools, and help as always...and nearly cutting the workmate in half more times than I can remember with his circular saw!!!
Jim for the custard creams, his unique marking out techiniques, and letting me do his torsion bars and being so gullible!!
Kel for his help starting the FOGbog conversion with pete while Jim and I did the shorty...and no kel, you dont need to undo BOTH end of an antiroll bar...undo one end and it dunna work no more...
A good fun day...got some stuff done and had a laugh...shame it was so bleedin cold though...
Oh and managed 4 2.8's in one place...would have been 5 but Pete bought his Kia SlowDoner as the timber wouldnt fit in his shorty!
