Re: Possible new ownerRunning temperature...head gaskets appear to fail and overheating seems common, heater working properly, all electrics work, clonking/knocking when revs lifted...would indicate pos dual mass flywheel problem (around £400 for the part!)
What have I told you about Thinking Erroll??
Re: Possible new ownerTake it for a run until it is warm and check the oil pressure is still good.
Check for any fluid leaks too. Regards, Keith.

Re: Possible new ownerOk, i have been to see the fronty. Seems straght enough, everything works. Didnt take it for a big test drive as the location was in the sticks and it was very icy to say the least (4wd works ok though). He is bringing the car to me later so i can drive it on the main roads.
The only concern was a slight oil leak on the engine.(2.2dti) standing infront on the left hand side at front 3/4 way up engine. Sort of looked like a bolt weaping. Any ideas cheers dac

Re: Possible new ownerWould go out and look at mine and see where the leak is... Maybe get chance tomorrow. Its FREEZing out there and Ive just covered it up.
I have a 2003 2.2DTi.... Cost me too much to buy really but its been fantastic. Bought it with 43000 miles on clock 18months ago. Had new oil level switch fitted under warranty and new brake caliper under warranty. Its now done 83000 miles so I think its time it got an oil and filter change!!! Have put new battery on it as it failed to start after a lay up whilst I was away working. It failed its first MOT on reduced brake effort that day because it had stood for three weeks whilst I was away, but after a drive around the block the brake effort came up and it passed on the retest I washed it once aswell I smashed a guard off it on a lakeland lane, got it wedged on rocks had to be winched off Driven through floods and now ice and snow..... Would not give it up for anything Oh and now I need a new headlight as a gritter has thrown a stone through it ![]() "metallic brown" 2.2eco LWB "A"1999 & Black 2.2DTi LWB "B"2003
