friend crashes my frontera

Well, we've decided to look for another frontera as when we took all the stuff off the front today it looks like more work than my friend wants to get involved with,and more than buying another frontera.
Really sorry bout no pics I forgot the camera and my phone which refuses to die does not have a camera.

Thanks drift yes I was happy with it and just spent 250 getting through mot
Budget would be between £500-£1000 and I would be happy to travel up to your way for one.If I could wangle a green one 2.3 or 2.5(as they seem to be as economical) that would be great.
What I put most work into was changing the rea door and the 2.5 has a door already so although it would be more money it would be less hassle as if I got another 2.3 I would want to change the door again.
Be great to be able to get one this weekend.Id love a 2.8 but Ive got to hang onto the 35mpg if poss.
Might see if I can gradually fix the old one even if I got another one but dont tell my wife I am thinking of this

Did you do a write up on the door swap, would be interested to see how straight forward, or not, this is to do.

I have to be honest and say you are very unlikely to find a Frontera A series that can do 35mpg, may get 30 on a run.

Thanks for the replies drfit and smiffy.I think Ive worked the mpg out right on mine,maybe the pumps set more economical which could explain why its slow!
Once to get an astra through emmissions the mechanic showed me how to turn a screw on the side of the pump to get them down but it made the performance terrible so i went back the next week and he reset it for me.
woodwizrd I did do a write up but no pics.It took four days in between having to stop to oversee work at my forge.I think I could do it quicker now but it was a lot of thinking through.I did have a problem right at the start as i found that theinner box behind the backlights was missing so I had to design and cut and weld in new plates etc to take the weight of the door.

The saga is nearly at an end.After several false leads etc I found a message from gregster to call him as he had a car for me.He has a green 2.5 which I am due to pick up tommorrow.I am very grateful as it has been a few days of worry trying to find another one.I really wanted one before Monday back to work day.
