Private land and vehicle ownership law??I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the subject before i go to the boys in blue? where i work there has been 2 vehicles seemingly dumped on our land which is owned by us, now 6 days ago i put 7 day intention of removal notices on both of the vehicles one being a 1992 Audi 3.6 V8 Quattro and the other being a 1998 Fiat Bravo 1.4 within 6hrs the audi was gone but the fiat has been left which to me says not bothered, this vehicle has NOT been taxed since 2005 and has a blown head gasket so it can't be driven what i need to know is i did this once before and the fuzz were fine with it but once the 7 day notice is up are we still allowed to dispose of the vehicle as our own as it is consdidered dumped on our PRIVATE land any thoughts on this appreciated
Re: Private land and vehicle ownership law??Vehicle dismantlers will not receive the vehicle from you without the V5 ownership docs, as they would be breaking the law.

Re: Private land and vehicle ownership law??Doesnt the local council have a duty to remove dumped vehicles, trace the owner and charge them accordingly?
What have I told you about Thinking Erroll??
Re: Private land and vehicle ownership law??I would put a permantent notice up saying your intentions for any cars left on your land. Least that way your within your rights as you displayed a notice etc The police can recover it , if it poses a danger or is causing an obstruction. If you have the means dragg it off your land an dump it some where safe on the a public highway then report it to the police.

Re: Private land and vehicle ownership law??Did you know that if the filler cap is missing its considered a fire risk, then the council have to collect it.....
We use to pull the filler caps off abandoned cars round here, on private and public property and the council then instruct there contractor to collect it almost immediately... Could remove a load of easy to get off bits like lights, mirrors, switch gear, alternator etcetc and ebay them to get some cash for your agro (i bit naughty though!) Its worth more in bits than in one lump anyway.... Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
