locked threadwith the greatest respect, i dont think my last thread should be locked! this is not about a 1 time happening its also about the future of our group, and i think all the group should be allowed to discuss this problem, maybe its time for the group to become a club! we have a ready made commitee with normally highly respected admin, and i dont think many members would object to conributions of say a fiver a year yours sincerely. ken mercer
Re: locked threadIt's only been locked cos it's covered in another topic. Rich has already explained.

Re: locked threadIts a subject that gets brought up regularly on FOG and as all the guys that help run the site members included operate on a partime basis consideration has to be given to time and expence of policing threads containg name and shame not to mention any legal consiquences.
For that reason we have our current policy in fore which quite basically is " Buyer Be aware ". As for FOG becoming a club it is maybe something/discussion for the future as a few things have to be ironed out first. Sometime we all agree on things and sometimes we dont and sometime we need to read the rules Ste

Re: locked threadfair reply ste,
Re: locked threadThis is the reason i only buy locally, i can collect in person pay directly and get part/item at same time that way there is no problems.
I am not willing to take the risk of buyin off a member through a postal verbal contract of sale as i do not know who i can trust no offence but this problem has happend alot and money even a £5 is alot of money to lose. I do not know who the culprits are it could be any one I don`t see any way FOG can police the sale`s or protect members. Other than the name and shaming yes i agree it s a good idea but its not without problems Where does it end cause people can be petty and jump the gun doing unessary damage and it could end up with more retractions and apogise and proberly the end of friendships. And i believe this would cause more problems for those that do take thier time in running the site to sort out.i reckon take up a chunk of thier time policing such post. The only thing i think is if the powers that be are notified straight away of any problems and if possible monitor all sales and make sure those involved are not allowedto buy or sell, and any member dealing with them are informed privatly that their has been an issue again the last part leaves legal implications (think thats the word) for the admin etc The rules of naming and shaming would have to be clear before any such post would be allowed I think ...? 1989 Isuzu Trooper 2.6 (3.1 conversion )
