Removing the air con pro's and con's

I'm toying with the idea of removing the aircon unit in my 2.2 dti

The reason being that I first need to clean up my intercooler but also from what I have read for the intercooler to work more efficiantly it needs first pick of the fresh air and if I am right in thinking the aircon unit is infront of the intercooler !! therefore it's not getting what it should (I don't know if I'm right or wrong on this matter ) hence the post.

But not only that but with the big chunky bull bars and spots on the front the air is ristricted and displaced as it is

so I'm putting it out to all you nice peeps out there as to what you all think??

I don't use the air con, no real need for it up here but just thinking of taking the unit out and capping it off what do you all think

knowing murphy and his law possibly its just the fact that I need to take it off to get at the intercooler then it would need to be recharged and with its location in hiberting the air to the intercooler its just a thought

The condenser for the aircon shouldnt be too restrictive, and will only be hot when the aircon is in operation, so will not be warming the air thats supposed to cooling the intake charge in the intercooler...
I dont think you will get any gain that is noticeable by removing the condenser...
and in fact you may get a loss in performance if you are driving on hot days with the windows open when you could have used the air con, ruining the small bit of aerodynamics that the fronty has...

One mod that may be worth considering (you will have to allow for my lack of knowledge of "B"'s) is to possibly wire the condenser fan to a switch inside the car..this will enable it to be switched on to force air through the condenser and then through your intercooler at lower speeds where there may be little airflow otherwise...I am assuming the condenser on fronty has a separate fan, my surf did...
