Day before yesterday I visited my normal motor factors to get a lamda sensor for herself`s car, while there I ordered the two inlet manifold gaskets for Tessa, there was a chassis # break on the upper& as time was getting on he ordered them on sale or return.Today was a bit up & down, spent the morning making a special socket to fit the lamda , had lunch drove the car down the motorway then up to the factors collected sensor nearly fainted when told the price of the lower gasket

£25

& a further £9.86 for the upper. Leftthe gaskets & drove home manifold suitably hot, socket fitted a treat sensor out WooHoo

opened the box fitted new sensor went to connect the wires,it seems the are a choice of several for that engine

went back to factors they spent 1/2 hour on the phone sorting it out.
After this went to local Vx stealer got both gaskets for £9.42
Moral 1) Shopping for the bulk of your parts at a local retailer can be good when things go pear shaped
Moral 2) Sometimes main agents can be cheaper than aftermarket
