Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene.Been quoted silly money to get it welded. And its due an mot in 2 weeks aswell. And i fancied getting a newer motor.so time to part company with it and break it.
Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene. The Monteray is a UK version of the Isuzu Bighorn import , as with all Troopers look at the chassis for rust, most of the suspension is the same as the Frontera.

Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene.i welded a monteray a few week ago,it was a n reg, the front cross member on the chassis had rotted and snapped in half it was only the front bash plate that was holding it together,i thought about getting one myself, but after seing what the chassis are like, i dont think i could trust one to carry my family, that aside they do drive very nice

Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene.Had a monterey a couple of years ago, 3.2 manual. The petrols are very cheap at the moment as the prices never picked up after the petrol price hike. With the auto box expect to average 20mpg.They are like every other vehicle on the road, good'uns and bad'uns, there wasn't any rust on my chassis or any of the others we looked at. They are very comfy and have loads of space in them.

Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene.I have a Monterey too, just a re badged Trooper, parts available from Vx and Isuzu, much of the running gear has a family link with my 2.8. Dependable motors, just check like all cars, some do rot, mine is fine. Petrols will be cheap, but pretty thirsty, the 3.1 td a pretty reliable lump, most seem to get 25 ish to the gallon, mine gets a little more.
Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene.I was going to put a bid in for this. But having heard about the rot on the chassis. It might be best for me to have a look before commiting to buy it.

Re: Might be leaving the frontera scene. It was only mot'ed 3 or 4 months ago, can't imagine it would have rotted out in that time
