Tipp's for fitting Vac hose's

I know full well that to some this may seem a bit of a daft question but, dose anybody have any tipps for getting hose's on etc.

I know about putting them in boiling water but what I have found by the time I have done one the water temp is on the way down, so just a thought does any body have any tipps of the day re, fitting vac hose's

Washing up liquid

And to keep them in place I twist a bit of wire or paper clip wire around the hose to stop them slipping off in the future.

A bit of washing up liqid also helps them slide on. Some times just mix some with the hot water in a cup and take it under the bonnet with me.

BUT dont mistake it for your coffee

If your reusing old hoses nip the ends of as thats where they crack.
