engine type code HELP

Hi all.

I've got a January 1995 Frontera LWB. It's a 2260cc turbo diesel and the engine's given out on me big style. I'm trying to find the engine type code so I can get another one that'll fit, but can't find it anywhere. I've looked all around the engine, and there's no reference to the type code in the logbook.

I was told by the guy I got it from that it's actually a trooper engine.
Can anyone tell me where about on the engine the code is likely to be?
