petrol smelli replaced the fuel pipes from the tank to the filter a few months ago . because i could smell petrol ,the pipes were corroded but i couldn,t find any leaks , anyway a few days after i could smell petrol again i got underneath it and i couldn,t find any leak or feel anything wet ,but the petrol smell was still there . but as time as gone on the petrol smell has got very strong . today i got under it again but still couldn,t find anything ,when i changed the pipes i had a bit of trouble getting the smaller pipe off the one by the filler pipe so i cut it off ,then found out i couldn,t get another one
Re: petrol smellCheck the fuel filter on the chassis rail. the pipes connecting it have been known to leak and it wont be noticeable unless the engine is running.
Re: petrol smellCheck the overflow pipe of the filler neck. They get covered in muck and corrode. Mine had a hole in it. I could smell petrol on and off, usually when filling up but only found it after brimming my tank ready for a long run and noticeing petrol dripping out.
