I bought a handheld CB off ebay, as thought it would be handy up the woods as often I am away from the car and cant hear the cb...
Put some batteries in it and it all lit up fine...
Thought I would check it worked ok, so took it outside to the chevy...
It transmitts fine and comes through on the chevy's cb load and clear...but it wouldnt recieve anything from the cb in the chevy!
Tried to get a rig check on the chevys one, but noone was on the air waves...to confirm it was getting out...
Was going to the workshop anyway, so took the handheld with me, tried it near the M20 and it is recieving fine!
The Cb in the truck hasnt been used for about a month, and has been untouched, other than when I unscrewed the mike and put in the glovebox the other day...
Thought that maybe its the mike...remembered Jim's midland rig is up the workshop, so I tried the mike off that to prove a point, still not transmitting..(so put jims mike back where I found it
The display on the Cb in truck makes out like its transmitting....but nothing being picked up on the handheld still...not even a break in the noise with no audio...
Have checked the aerial connections and they all seem ok, but they havent been touched, and the unit is recieving so I guess that must be ok...
The battery was a bit flat on the truck where it had been unused, so tried again with jumpleads on my astra (running), incase there was insufficent voltage to TX...still no joy...
Any ideas foggers???
the model of the chevy's cb is a midland 38, PR27/97 if that helps????
