NOT SURE IF IV POSTED IN THE RIGHT PLACE SO FEEL FREE TO MOVE TO CORRECT SECTIONwell driving home last night i saw my life flash before my eyes ( all be it a very boring one !!!! ) well i was on a 70mph road and come to overtake a car going slow so increased to 75 mph to overtake next thing the tyre blows out at 75 and the car start going into a spin in front of the car i was overtaking, so i corrected myself and it done the same and just tried to spin out at 75 with a blow tyre the car tried its hardest to dig in and flip over but i managed to get it to the side of the road with smoke pouring out of the wheel arch, i then managed to scrap the centre barrier but its minor damage to the rear bumper the car i was overtaking was hit by all the bits tyre exploding from my tyre, and the guy just carried on regarless and didnt even stop to see if i was ok im lucky to be here and not in hospital with major injuries as if the car had rolled i twould have rolled a long way with the speed it happened at all i can say is i know im a new driver but if i didnt have over 10 years ecperience of driv ing diff cars i could have ended up with major injuries if i hadnt controlled it word of warning to all new drivers, let these pics be a lesson to you a blowout at 75mph in a 4x4 is no fun

Must of been terrifying for you Really pleased to hear that your ok Get your fronty fixed and get behind that wheel ASAP as sometimes something like that can put you off driving.... I know I didn't have a blown tyre, but I did land in a field, I aquaplaned on water, thankfully I wasn't going more than 40mph, but it put me off driving for a few good years its only now since I have got Gracie May that I feel my confidence is slowly returning ....... After it happened I rang the AA, and they asked me for my location??... I said I'm in a field in Wales I didn't have a clue what road I was on or the name of the place hahahaha So in a situation like that and touch wood that has never happened to me, what is the best way to get control of the vehicle, I know I would panic like hell, I know it wouldn't be helpful, but what could you do if you are in that situation please or if you car decides to spin please?? Cheers

That looks awful really impressed you managed to control it. What puzzles me is that your tyre doesent look worn at all, so the question is when you check your tyres how can you tell if they are going to go like yours did?If there is a nail in it its obvoius but what other less obvious signs of wear are there? What make of tyre is it?

hi
cheers for the comments guys
they was not more than a month old and they where all kumho tyres, i went for decent tyres so things like this didnt happen
all tyres where in good condition so iv either badly punctured the tyre badly or there was a flaw in the tyre that caused it
tyres where also still in good condition and at correct pressure with no damage to them

Glad you are OK, but if tyres are only a month old I reckon I would be going back to the dealer with the tyre and asking questions...

At he end of this article are the rules about guarantees. You could be able to claim for the damage to back of truck too. Maybe trouser cleaning bill too. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11How long since they were made?
If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
