Yet another good work day on the site
Will leave it to Greg for the full write up as I was only able to make it for half the day due to other commitments
Sorry no photos but a couple of vids
First one is Greg in his white stock Frontera attempting Krushers revenge which has now become 'very' interesting in the wet.
Fortunatley he had dumper tyres on which gave the required traction, but no one else dared to try, even with muddys on.
Hopefully this vid will give those who have not been here yet an idea of some of the hills we have to contend with as shown by the angle Gregs car is at on the climb.

Second is of us playing in the new bomb hole. Once dug out a bit more (as Greg decided to fill it in a bit with his wheel spins) this will make a wicked obstacle for trying out your skills
We had a small problem with a tree and the Big Blue Bus at one point, but as you will see we soon sorted that out.

Best of all though - I didn't get stuck :D :D :D so can I have a change of avatar please Greg

Didn't have camera with me today so I'm afriad no pics.
It certainly as got a lot more interesting in there after a bit of rain - right mixed bag now.
For me, some of the runs are one way only, Down the hill.
As Paul, don't want to say to much before Greg's main write up but the slippery chalky flint substrate certainly gives it another level and takes it up a gear in what can be achieved. Previous easier runs now have a challenge to them.
If you want a fun day out, get your name down for the 25th. See you all then.

Kel - I'll let him own up, but I think he ought to upgrade it to "This Vehicle Is Reversing".

Yer, I got Holly the Big Blue Bus stuck. Twice   Too used to driving Lara I think

That would be me, hehe... Incidentally, I see from the video, I have a bulb out - must change that tomorrow. Top vids Paul,

Still, damn good, and productive day was had, with a little fun and games also. Roll on the picnic in a fortnight.

Yeh, they'll probably come off, to be fair. Personal preferences aside, I can't stand the bloomin' things, so I'll just put on some two-tone airhorns instead.

OK OT a wee bit
Ive got a bleeper, I try to have them on all the bigger cars I own, as cant see the kids in the street so gives them a fighting chance to leg it when Im reversing, also handy when lots of guys about off road and in Asda car park, they hear the bleep and think a wagon is reversing and get out the flippin way

Wotcha foggers....

Blinding day again, got loads done, many thanks to everyone who donated their time and energy today for the cause...

Todays motley crew were...

Me.....enough said!
Sal.....to make sure I didnt do anything stupid!(sal said I must add that it didnt work though!!!)
Wilberforce (my new co-pilot)....with his dixie horns, and lovely reversing beeper.....
Badboy.....with the event camcorder
Pedro.....with his ever evolving 2.8 and confidence!
Matt.....my mate with his 90 trayback!

i should add the clear picks below are sals....the blurring ones are mine!!

Todays workday mob....
Image
Image
Image

The li'll white leafer was sporting its "unique" tyres...
Image

First job was to cut a flat straightish route through the rest of the bottom of the site....so the side slopey bits I cut last picnic are now optional as slippery when wet....
We cracked on with this felling loads of trees, and loggin them up....

Once done and pruned/tidied up...Matt was encouraged to have a go on Krushers revenge in the wet mud in his 90....
Tis a bit more challenging now...took him 5 attempts to get up it!!! (With a 90 with tuned 200tdi, 4"" lift, 35" simex tyres, welded rear diff etc etc)
I then had a go in the li'll white leafer....which is totally stock apart from my "special" tyres...
Took a co-pilot....Wilberforce....as Sally told me to sod off (or similar) when I suggested "we" tried it....
Wilberforce placed my brain carefully in the glove box, as he fastened his seatbelt....
We kinda booted it a bit...Wilberforce was grinning with terror as we assaulted the climb, we lost traction on the tree roots at the top and had to regroup, rethink and approach the top bit again with more planning (THROTTLE!!)....
and it made it...but then we are aiming at a tree....buried the brakes (going uphill???) and we stopped just in time....
Wilberforce wanted another go...but I took the sensible line and said no  ....and then he promptly got out!!
Wilberforce decided to walk back down the hill, even though there was perfectly good 4x4 at the top that could have given him a lift!!

Coming down was.....interesting......yet more planning (THROTTLE) was required half way down when the back tried to overtake the front
Got a bit hairy....but the brain was still safe in the glovebox...
Wilberforce seemed sad that he hadnt come down in the car....

We then took the logs up to the ever growing pile, and emptied the trailer...I must admit, offroadin with 1/2 a ton of logs in a trailer behind the sport is interesting...glad I had stuck the special tyres on....

Next we all piled up to the new bomb holes that matt and I had opened up the other day....
Much frolicking occurred here as we made new tracks through it....

Wilberforce giving the BBB some....
Image
Image

Pedro caught a tree with his roof rack....
Image
Image

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Wilberforce gets the BBB all tangled up....chainsaw to the rescue....
Image
Image

Me doing some digging using RWD...
Image
Image

The 4 stooges...
Image

Then back down the bottom to test drive some of the new climbs and fell/prune as neccesary

Image
Image

A foolish tree wedges itself between the body and chassis on the leafer....and refused to come out....cue unusual chainsaw techinque!!
Image
Image

Tried out Pedro's new hill,
from the other evening (blame him, not me Jim!!)....pedro went first and made it....
Wilberforce went after Matt and got stuck (the lwb was a bit too long and it was a bit too slippy!)ended up wedged between a tree and tree root...
I towed it back a bit (I couldnt find any grip!!!...but now 4 nice holes on the top!!) and then using a strop onto the nsr corner Jim slid the front across to clear the tree...
Image
Image
Image
Image

All in all...a blinding day...got loads done and had some fun as well...

I think everyone was surprised today at how my little boggo fronty faired against Matts tricked up 90....
The li'll white leafer did some real extreme stuff and performed outstandingly...the tyres worked pukka!!! 8)

Many thanks to everyone who helped....the next picnic is gonna be wicked!!

Both Sal and I had a great day....aching now mind....was good to catch up with everyone again...

See you all soon...

Disc had a scratch on it so file is damaged. I've done my best to post up the original damaged footage but it does jump frames a bit around the 1min mark.

Excellent extra bit of Greg doing the same hill in the downward direction.

At least we all now know why Wilberforce decided to walk down rather than go with Greg

Decent was a bit quicker than planned I admit....but at 1.30, it got a bit crossed up as the back slid on the tree roots at the top, so i had to use the gas pedal to pull it out straight before it got too crossed up, as if the back had come round more it would have put me too sideways on the slope and it could have easily rolled it otherwise...

Cheers badboy for finding the bit where I made it!! 8) 8)
