Re: FAO The EngineerCould I please ask that you read ................. Forum Code of Conduct
Taking particular note of..................... Any items bought; sold, advertised via the Frontera Owners Group is strictly between the Buyer and the Seller. & Any disputes between the buyer and seller are to be resolved between the two parties. The reasoning behind the above second line is to avoid threads of this nature that are more damaging than constructive Last edited by Road Hog on Sat Oct 03, 2009 9:10 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: FAO The EngineerLet off some steam, Bennet.
Re: FAO The EngineerMaybe the Forum Rules should state, if you have asked someone to keep something for you for over a month, out of respect and courtesy to that person, would you find the time to let them know, you no longer want it or need it via a PM, e-mail or phone call.
It's about time the timewasters were named and shamed. ATB. Reeco

Re: FAO The EngineerI can't believe this thread...
Believe me... you wanna try selling loads of 4x4 spares on ebay... then you will realise how good we have it on here!! Firstly they rape you with the listing fee... Then they rape you again with the final value fee's... They charge you to get paid by paypal...and now insist that you use it...! Then you have to answer loads of retarded questions like "will this frontera axle fit my micra!!" and how much to post to the other side of the world... Then you get messed around waiting in for people to collect stuff... Then they moan because your part didnt cure their problem, as they misdiagnosed it in the first place... Then they moan that you make 50p out of P&P over what is stamped on the postoffice label...even though you spent time packaging, bought the materials and took to the post office... Then finally they can slate you in their feedback as the buyer....but you cannot say anything bad about the buyer whatsoever or leave a Neg... and then to add insult to injury their fees go up on an almost monthly basis.... unless you are one of their "buddy" powersellers who sell 1000's of units a week (which is not what ebay is all about in my book??) then they pass all of the extra I pay in discounts to their powersellers... Ebay Sucks.... So what we have here is great in the main... We dont pay to list... We dont pay a final value fee... We dont get charged extra for having pictures... Buyers can get great technical advice as to whether the bit is right, and whether it will cure their problem... Buyers/sellers can normally get items FOG expressed for next to nothing all over the country... Feedback is by way of open 2 sided discussion, with moderation on the fly...no disputes to raise and having to explain everything 10 times... The only thing asked of us is that we conduct things civilly, and if we make a few quid then we bung FOG a donation now and again... Sounds pretty darn good to me...cant think how it could be better... One suggestion that I always try and do...is that at the first point of discussion over a potential purchase, is EXCHANGE PHONE NUMBERS... This can save loads of hassle, as many people dont check in everyday on their PC's, and lets face it the average PC is more unreliable than most frontera's and how many broken ones of these requiring attention appear on a daily basis on these pages... Most people only have one PC still....and if goes wrong then it can mean weeks offline... Getting phone numbers for people you are wanting to deal with, deters the timewasters...and guarantees effective communication, makes sorting things out far more easy...and would save these kind of issues going forwards... May I suggest if someone has Engineers phone number, that they PM Reeco to obtain his phone number, and then phone Engineer and pass Reeco's number on...and ask if they can pass engineers number back to reeco.. This can probably be all sorted very easily then... My thoughts anyway....the dealings I have had buying and selling on here have always been a pleasure, BUT ALWAYS GET PHONE NUMBERS AT FIRST CONTACT!!! Re: FAO The Engineeryeah wel maybe the rules should be looked at. No one said it was FOG`s fault
bit like e-bay do not leave neg feed back As this is not the first time someone has had problem, yes it`s not up to FOG to police sale`s even if there is a small donation going to FOG I do not blame Admin nor see it thier job to sort said problem And try to abide by the rule`s. I still think we should be allowed to openly complian or query a sale, swap etc if a member fails to responed by doing this either the member gets reminded or some else can remind the member and make other member aware. I think the point has been made about this person and how people feel when ths happens too them. Not one person blame`s the Fog team , nor expect`s the FOG team to get involved to resolve it. Re: FAO The Engineerhow about a trusted buyers/sellers section so members could post members names [both parties] after successful deals

Re: FAO The EngineerThat would sort of work, but is not consistent as one of Badboys approved sellers has/had failed to respond to enquiry from at least one other member
Re: FAO The Engineer"one of Badboys approved sellers has/had failed to respond to enquiry from at least one other member "
couldnt that be noted as well ? if several members post the same problem then other members could then decide as to weather to deal or no deal as noel edmounds would say i would think if members want to deal lagitimately then nobody would disagree would they ? WHY AINT I GOT AN ALL SINGING & ALL DANCING SIGNATURE LIKE BOXY & DRIFTY ?

Re: FAO The EngineerHow about doing it the old fashioned way? The Seller places the ad, then the potential buyer PM's them to get a phone number. They then have a "conversation"
and arrange the deal. If the meet or arrangement does not happen then the seller reposts the ad. If the arrangement goes to plan then cash is exchanged for the goods there and then. I would say that nearly everyone has a paypal account, so there is another method of payment for bits if a meet is not possible. Personally, If I want something that a member has advertised for sale then I will not commit to the seller until I know I am good for the sale. Ramsgate, Kent
