Re: Bottle Jacks? You would be better off with a 2ton trolley jack, you can pick one up for about £16. There alot safer and they come in nice boxes for storage.

Re: Bottle Jacks? You need to decide what lift and what size tyres you may decide to put on the vehicle in the future. That will give you the chassis height off the floor, no point getting one that will lift it now, but not in the future if you put big tyres and a lift on.
My Halfords bottle jack rides in the car with me and does most things, its the larger one of the 2 they make I think its a 4t jobby. If I need extra height I have some box section I sit it on, after all it has about 2ft of movement its original height isnt as important. The Fronty weighs in under 2t, add all the stuff you may have in, anything 3t plus will easily lift one side, your not likely to want to lift the whole car on one jack. Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"
Fronty no.5 2.8 swb hd coils +2" 31"machos.
Re: Bottle Jacks?I carry a 3ton swl bottle jack from Halfords, does well for emergencies and helps out when I need two jacks for various suspension jobs.

Re: Bottle Jacks?I suspect that's the one I have in my car too...
Performed quite admirably the last time it was called upon, although how it will fare now I've bodylifted the car and fitted some slightly larger tyres remains to be seen. There's always a couple of blocks in the boot also, just in case. Jim...
