Re: Where do i start.I would think about a lift, depending how soon you do a suspension lift, think tyre size, you can go to 31" mud tyres comfortably with a minimal lift and standard suspension, I would say start at a 2" suspension lift and get 265/75/16 tyres assuming your rims are 16", that what should you feel the need to raise higher your tyres will still do the job and look good, ie not to small.
A few of us years ago got the smaller mud tyres then lifted the cars then found it looked silly with little tyres so had to fork out for new tyres. So think about where you want to start and how much time, money and commitment you have to the car otherwise you will waste money. Ste

Re: Where do i start.Hiya matey.....
Welcome to fog.... I would go with a bit of a lift to get some bigger rubber underneath...then get out there and go play... Garethc976 runs a lwb 2.2dti, which is lifted, slightly oversize rubber and it goes everywhere.. Check out http://www.fronteraowners.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=28130, theres loads of pickies and vids of his motor on there from our meet today... we have got some stuff coming up soon at our offroad site if you fancy joining us, it is near maidstone in kent so easy motorway access...see the links below and they will take to straight to the threads... Hopefully will catch up soon matey Laters Gregster Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()

Re: Where do i start.Ok mate,
Welcome to the forum, I quick hint to watch out for what the others are saying as they tend to run A series Fronties and not a B series. First thing you NEED to do is get RID of the PLASTIC "protectors" that are under your sump and gear box. The A series has metal your and MINE are PLASTIC. I got a set of metal Covers from a guy called Ken Wales, off this forum. Just undersealed mine at the weekend and have got some dints in the 1/4" plate so the plastics would / are useless as protection. Once you have the protection fitted then go for a suspension and body lift. Kits from Minlner's off road. Search on suspension lifts and B series to check it out. Body lift is about £50 (also sold by Yakatar I believe), and springs are HD Trooper ones. Front is just torsion bar adjustment and the its tyres to fit the hole. Trev 2000 Frontera 2.2 DTi Ltd

Re: Where do i start.I think the front section is metal and the rear is plastic, they where made plastic as a noise suppressant to fall in line with EU new car regulations.
