Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURESFirst of all a very big thanks to Greg and Sal for all their time spent building the site and organising today.
Really interesting and full on tracks now taking shape. Many tracks now don't stop to think about doing, just get in a drive and keep your foot down. Got home tonight and felt absolutely shattered, reckon it's the concentration levels required, which adds to the fun and demands of some of the runs. Here's my piccies, not many as spent most of time driving. Kel starting his climb up the run that he was the first to master last outing out. Kel coming up over the top Jim following soon after Jim conquorering the new tree root run. Bit of a mushroom grower that one. Paul doing first run up log obstacle course with rutted rabbit warren underneath. Loose dirt had Paul down to his axle. Gibbo setting up his winch to give Paul a helping tug Paul safely out. Hats off to you Paul for being first to have a go. Gave us all a laugh watching each other giving it some whelly bouncing up over the warren. It help us who followed on because the rabbits got barracaded in as the ruts filled. We all had to give it some to get up over the steep incline at the top. Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURESWhat a fantastic day. Excellent turnout. Thanks Greg
Will get my embarrassment over and done with now. Yes I got stuck (twice), but then I was being used as the test pilot for the day on the new runs Greg and Sally have put in since the 30th. Thanks to Krusher and Gibbo for recovering me. Embarrassing photos first then my others Cross Axle'd on one of the new runs and had to be towed out by Krusher Buried axle deep in the Rabbit Warren - recovered by Gibbo and his winch Videos The one everyone want's to see - Krusher Showing how do do the Rabbit Run, and me doing it wrong Truly worthy of the carnage thread Gibbo in his 90 on the special axle twister Thanks to Greg & Sal for organising the day, and to everyone who attended, and an additional thanks to Greg for changing my avatar - cheers mate - not Last edited by BadBoy on Sun Sep 13, 2009 9:39 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURESBig thanks to greg and sal was another great day.
Sorry but no pics from me as once again forgot to take a camera but the pics and videos so far are great. Not much damage just lost a mud flap (retrieved by greg) small dent in roof (downside of being the highest vehicle) oh and smashed the snorkel top off so the landy is outside with a bag over the top. Stace said sorry for being a unsociable cow mixture of late night and good new book. Good to see a few people i already meet again and of course the new ones. Thanks again for such a great day just a shame i have the long drive home after. Phil Cheers Phil

Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURESHiya foggers....
Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came today and made it the great day that it was... It is the support of you guys that makes organising stuff both possible and enjoyable Additional thanks to Retro Pedro for the pressure washer (will be right handy when the Mud I have ordered from him upstairs comes!), Badboy for the Tarps and Gareth for doing his thing with the camera all day again... Further additional thanks has to go to my Sal, for all her help today and the numerous other times I have dragged her up the woods for an afternoon/evenings cutting/pruning etc...she's been a star and a real grafter...without her help I could never have got all the new stuff in that we did prior to todays meet. Todays events..... Today got off to a slow start, all meeting at the Pub, with a few late ones due to traffic etc.... Finally most arrived and we headed off....the straggler whose excuse was getting laid the night before, was to join us later!! Discovered that the chevybravafing doesnt have abs....and has a longer stopping distance than Retropedro's sport....when he stopped quickly as unsure which was the way to go....we nearly had a carnage thread entry before even getting to the woods!!! On arrival at the woods I briefed everyone as to where the new trails were that sal and I had put in...and showed the new signage which helped to start with until the tracks got more chewed up... I dived down to the other end of the site to cut through to the final parts of the hill whilst everyone else went exploring... Gibbo came down to lend a hand (and another chainsaw) Our progress was paused by the first of Badboys STUCK demonstrations! The new hill that Sal and I put through the other day claimed it first captive! After a few attempts of self extraction with different lines, finally extraction was courtesy of the PINK one (with the shiny bullbar!) Gareths "b" did the lwb's proud by walking the same obsticle on the 2nd attempt....the shorties may have the edge on the tight stuff, but when it comes to climbing the LWB's rock.... Most of the picnicers then piled down to the far end of the site and some new climbs were cut in which were really cool...I got lost somewhere up the top though and the chevybravafing did its own form of felling trees to get out! Then later in the day down to the new logged, rabbit warren climb....I had a go after badboy was extracted....gave it a boot full the chevybravafing made it up no probs....albiet a tadge aggressively I think... Had another go to see if the old girl would crawl it...which she did...good old chevy never missed a beat as always...so pleased with this old truck! Highlights per member.... retropedro....trucks looking wicked with its lift, new boots (simexy things)...for someone who hasnt done a lot of offroadin, peters skills and confidence in his trusty steed have come on massively...new tyres works a treat.....but bit of rear wheel arch carnage from somewhere today! Badboy....what can I say....great to see that your car fixed and working again, your hard work paid off today, deffo gets the award for MOST STUCK CAR today, albeit 2 of the climbs were virgin ones, but then everyone else had to get past the holes you dug afterwards! AND YOU BROKE MY SIGN!!! 2much...the snot green beasty was sporting a new wound on its rear quarter but went everywhere...PMSL at his boy climbing on his car to do massive tarzan styley swings on the rope swing...shame had to leave early as missed the fun and frolics later on... Gareth796...his trusty "b" did outstandingly all day...with our man clicking away taking more stunning pickies...held up the side for the LWB's in true style with some excellent driving... Adrian...his sport went everywhere, wing got a souvenir of the days events... Krusher...the pink contingent did well today...spending most of the day driving the more difficult stuff...no carnage I dont think...woosed it for a while on the logged/rabbit warren climb...but after much "encouragement" from everyone he had a go, went up there like a ballistic missile narrowly missing a tree (which Badboy then got for him!) Wilberforce...LATE BOY...stand in the corner with your hands on your head! Got lucky last night allegedly.... Attacked stuff in the usual wilberforce fashion...foot to the floor...and his window kept falling out of its runner...door card was left off towards the end to aid ease of repeatly refitting! I think there was maybe one or 2 trees in the woods that wilberforce missed with his bullbar and towbar! Gibbo n stacey...the green oval beasty...did well all day with some top piloting from the gibbo...got to use his winch again...suffered a mudflap removal and dented the roof slightly in my "special gibbo challenge" and bust his snorkel top somewhere...Stace was stuck into her mills and boon most of the day...how she can read with gibbo's driving I will never know! Blinding day....thanks everyone for coming, and I look forwards to seeing you all soon...when hopefully we will have mud!!! Laters Gregster n Sal Sorry no pickies this time....too busy with the chainsaw most of the day! Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURES
Firstly, while I will concede that I was terribly late (shame, etc etc,) it is with very good reason. It would be very uncivilised of me to abandon a Lady first thing in the morning just to go playing in the woods. Besides, my car was nowhere near the house I woke up in, so some logistical issues needed sorting too. Anyhow, thanks again to Greg, and the long suffering Sal for putting together a cracking site, and I enjoyed the afternoon thoroughly The towbar may well be removed for next time, although it's only the electrics that keep getting bent. Not so the bullbars, they're staying, else I'll have no headlights left before long, hehe I do worry slightly that I keep bouncing off trees, but then I shall blame my profression for always making me take corners wider than required Anyhow, cracking piccies folks, I'll dig my camera out for next time. Roll on the next picnic (and hopefully some rain, too) Jim Jim...

Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURESHi there people, sorry its taken me so long to get round to posting, I still havnt been able to stop laughing about Paul's ability to get stuck everywhere!!!!!!! Anyways in his defence he was the guinea pig, for most of the tracks, and the rutts he dug out for us made them alot harder!!!!!!!
Anyways here's a link to the pix from me for the day, sorry alot of them our repetitive, I sadly havnt got enough time to sort out the wheat from the chaff!!!! http://s902.photobucket.com/albums/ac22 ... ter=images 2000 2.2 tdi limited LWB.

Re: SE Picnic in the woods 13th Sept REVIEW and PICTURESI,m sorry but Fronty of the month has been cancelled for September on account of that pic of Badboy nose diving into the hill just before felling a tree.
That was one of the funniest things I have seen in ages If you watch the video clip posted by Paul himself you can hear the laughter start before hes even come to a halt. Ramsgate, Kent
