I had a friend who used to work for a certain french manufacturer, the used to use redex in the same way when they done a de-coke. 4hour job (head off, valves out and reseated etc..etc) done in half an hour..cost to them about next to nothing, cost to customer £185 (was a fair few years back mind)

unfortunatly the swear filter prevents me from putting their (the french car maker) name up but it ends in "n"

the americans believed in Regan so I wouldn't trust them too much (sorry to any of our american friends and members, you obviously are superior to the average yankee due to you owning a proper motor).

Yep I can remember the Redex decoke,but never heard of putting it in with the sump oil
