Hiya Southeast foggers... By popular demand the SE meet is happening on the 30th August 2009, so stick it in your diaries and on your calenders!! The day will commence with us all meeting at the Newnham Court Inn at 12.00pm-1.00pm for a chat, a gander at each others trucks, a drink and possibly some grub if foggers wanna eat. This pub does 2 for 1's on food and I have spoken to the manager who is happy that we use the place as a meeting/starting point. Access to this place is fab as it it literally seconds from the M20 J7 and within a short striking distance of some byways. Link for Map to start point... http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=16&countryCode=GB&qs=ME145LH#map=51.2845,0.55136|16|4&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:51.2845:0.55136:16|ME145LH|ME14%205LHPlease note...The map show the location to the left as you enter Newham court (where Notcutts garden centre is) but actually the pub will be on your rhs when you get to the corner at the top of the entrance road, you cant miss it though...
For more details of the pub and menu's please see... http://www.pub-explorer.com/kent/pub/newnhamcourtinn.htmThen we will be exploring some of the local byways around the area as a group or 2...(or 3 or 4 )
If any foggers have pristine motors that they do not wish to lane, then hopefully you will be able to accompany the ones who are, so you can enjoy the experience, and the the beautiful scenary and hopefully be converted to a love of mud and all things uneven!! Same goes for anyone who has bust their fronty and is bringing a lesser car up. Please note...Any Foggers who wish to come laning in their car will need to apply for permits as 2 of the lanes we will be driving have this scheme in place. Permits are FREE and simply require that you fill out a simple form and send to KCC.
Links to these forms are below... KH219 Lenham, North Downs way, National trail http://www.kent.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/47249165-06A7-4CF8-AC7D-505B30F33E8F/0/Permitapplication.pdfKH94 Bredhurst Woods http://www.kent.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/14C5D4CC-510E-4FE4-AF9B-2F9380DAE92D/0/bredhurstpermit.pdfSimply print the form, fill it out, and post it back to KCC at the address on the form and you will recieve your vehicle permit within a few days. Don't leave it too late though as clearly Kcc staff have hols too, and you dont want to be without a permit. Badboy and I will do a reccy on all the lanes we are driving probably the week before, so we can give up to date info of what is to be expected. We will not be tackling anything severe, and the lanes we are doing I have done myself before many times...even in a fiat panda 4x4! So this will be a great introduction to green laning to anyone who has perhaps never been off the tarmac before, in the company of foggers who are more experienced for reassurance. Dont worry if you havent got recovery gear...you probably wont need it anyway...myself and badboy will be bringing some should anyone get stuck. Depending on numbers we may have to divide into groups I will go with one group and badboy the other. The day will finish up back at the Newnham court inn for a well earned pint...and a chat about the days events...and we will sort out when you all want the NEXT one... This will be the first of many meets in the southeast...but everyones participation is vital to its success. Whether you want to get your fronty dirty or have never been off road before or even if you are not bringing a fronty, it is important you are there so you can be part of our plans down here for the future. Its gonna be a good day....and I look forwards to seeing you all.... Please post below if you are planning to come so we can get an idea of numbers please...Many thanks and see you all very soon... Will do my best to make it but my Mrs is due to give birth to our second child in the next 2-3 weeks so really depends on what happens with the littlen. Don't think I'll be popular if I'm a no show on the maternity wing because I'm off roading
