Is this dodgy?I'm still on the look out for a fonty and cam across this tonight
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0332967773 The only thing is i'm slightly concerned by the fact that on the pic of the speedo showing the mileage it's got "Calibrated by" written on it and I can't remember seeing this before, is this standard or has it had a clock change?
Re: Is this dodgy?That could be a good thing that sign, it may have had the dash replaced, the B series suffer from the dash console packing in, seems to me that one has been sorted.

Re: Is this dodgy?give the seller an e-mail and ask him. I would say it's had a clock change at some point. I've bought cars with stickers on the speedo saying "un-verified mileage" or similar in the past.

Re: Is this dodgy?It's a sticker.
IRS do speedo repairs. I'd guess that the speedo had broken and they have repaired it, or a brand new one has been fitted, and they have changed the mileage to the last recorded, known, or verified mileage. The dealer/seller should have paperwork to support this, but if they don't you can contact IRS with the certificate number and they can tell you why it was fitted. Eitherway the mileage shown maybe slightly out, but you should be able to trust it as accurate. The other poss is that the vehicle is ex police as they have to have calibrated speedos Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines
Re: Is this dodgy?What I meant by sticker is the type posted above and stuck on by dealers, that seems a genuine manufacturers or calibration firms inside the glass.
I first thought that looked like a an ex police or ambulance car when looking at the passenger footwell and seeing the screw holes but it has Air con and not to many forces went to that expense with a car and the milage was a bit low for an ex plod car, still it could have been though and worth checking. I certainly wouldnt turn my nose up at it for the right price as some if not most ex police cars are a bargain if tidied up properly. Me and a police mechanic mate used to sell ex police cars for beer money many moons ago Ste

Re: Is this dodgy?Hi i had a set of clocks with that logo in when my dad used to buy ex police cars.So the clocks might have been replaced or it may be an ex police vehicle.Although i have never seen a fronty being used by the police.Take a look at this link.http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.p ... 87171420/0 Hope this is of some help.
Re: Is this dodgy?I might be wrong but I think I remember seeing this car on ebay about a year ago. It was not sold the first time but was on the re-listing. It was an ex coroners car and was being sold in Yorkshire.
Re: Is this dodgy?I think it might have been a former Police vehicle, they are usually calibrated in 1 or 2mph increments instead of 5 or 10mph increments.
Re: Is this dodgy?the seller is about 5 minutes from my house lol, those pics were taken at Pen-y-lan pond
I wouldn't say it was ex-rozza. its a bit to over equipped, unless of course it wasn't a squad car... could've been a boss car. I can't think of anyone who'd actually pay to have a speedo repaired and calibrated, cheaper to just replace.
Re: Is this dodgy?The sole reason I know of for re-calibration is a change of wheel size. Very common in the early days of modding Mk 1 Escorts or old Anglias etc.
Bigger wheels give a false reading as 70mph on speedo can be more on a radar.... How many of you are going OOPS If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: Is this dodgy?Hiya
it has just over 12 hrs to go and its currently at £1,750.00

Re: Is this dodgy?It’s a calibrated odometer, possibly ex service vehicle, or perhaps a calibrated dash for other reasons, in its self nothing to be over concerned about,
however that mileage is very low, ask for some service history. Worth a look, if it’s a genuine low mileage vehicle. http://www.crag-uk.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
