Re: insurance quoteHi Smifffy
Will that be the same for Roof bars Please do you know? When I rang Adrian Flux, I mentioned what I was going to have done i.e the lift spring, think I said what tyres I had on her etc They never mentioned the roof bars and to be honest I didn't know she had come with them, as got insurance on her the day before (with only seeing a photo of her ..) I went to pick her up, as they charge you extra Cheers ![]()
Re: insurance quoteRoo,
If you mean the roof rails running down the side of the truck, they're standard kit; shouldn't be any issues there. MIght want to tell them about the wheels, not that they ought to affect premium either (didn't for me) but simply to keep the sods informed about things. Jim ---Edit--- Ooopsie, see you said you'd mentioned the tyres, etc. Jim...

Re: insurance quoteas i remember if it came as standard then the insurance company should already know.
Think it goes along the lines of adding mods can change the vehicle to a different model. for example (allbiet an old one) you buy a standard escort mk3 add alloys, reccaro seats, and a body kit with spoilers etc and you end up with a XR3 model, but with a crappy engine. so the insurance company think that it's in more risk of being pinched, or have bit nicked off it. edit* Is an improvement classed as a modification? Re: insurance quotethe roof bars that are factory fitted are ok
it was the crossbars with roofrack fitted to that they were on about the guy said if it never came out of the factory with it on its classed as a mod so i added taxdisc and mot & fire extinguisher & 80lts of petrol he soon shut up they do try it on to get the last bit of blood out of the stone
Re: insurance quoteTold saga about the wheels ,tyres , light bar, nudge bar and all they said was as long as there has been no engine mods it’s fine . So I asked about a snorkel and even that was ok
Re: insurance quoteAh that's ok then if its factory fitted
Yeah I have told the insurance about the tyres and alloys and the 2"lift to come and mentioned the snorkel to come too and the CB radio Thanks for the informations guys ![]()

Re: insurance quoteWhen I told my insurance company about the mods they weren't interested unless it was over 6" lift and 35" tires. They were interested in winches and bumper mods tho but I dont have either of those so no big deal really.
