New family car replaces frontyWell we take delivery of a new focus on the 20th of july (fingers crossed) which means the fronty is no longered need as a family car, the mot was up on 4th of july. Now i could scap it

Re: New family car replaces frontyHmmm... The 2.0 sport is cheap to insure and tax. As a plaything for green laning or pay and play it probably wont cover more then 3000 miles a year. Weigh it up against what you would get for it if you sold/scrapped it versus the cost of a new vehicle.
The 2.0's arent fast but they are fairly reliable and you already have a wealth of knowledge here.

Re: New family car replaces frontyNot much worse then the disesels for laning, remember the engine is probably doing about 1500/2000 RPM for hours at a time whether disiesel or petrol and you are covering fery few miles in that time.
Certainly not enough to justify the price difference between petrol and disiesel at the pumps I reckon. I reckon an average days laning (not including travelling to get to the meeting point and home again) of say 60ish miles costs me just under £20 give or take a bit in my 2.2 Petrol.

Seeing as I have a Sports will fill the tank up before I go out laining next, and can let you know if you like, will fill it up again after the day and how many miles and cost if that helps ya ??
Re: New family car replaces frontyUsing mine regular as road car it only does 22mpg is under powered, In the end only way to find out is to do it.
