As most of us who have modified our Frontys are aware, getting a quote from the mainline insurers is near impossible, leaving us to go to specialists like Chris Knott (site sponsers).
I just thought it would be worth pointing out that there are other companies out there as it took me countless phone calls looking for a company to get my Fronty insured at a competitive price after I modified it with a body lift.
Giving Chris Knott their dues I got a good quote from them, but as I have a poor insurance history they could not give me the best price.
Sureterm Direct beat Chris Knott for me this year.
They do a specalist 4x4 insurance for modified vehicles (they even have a guy working for them who's a 4x4 enthusiast so knows what your talking about when delcaring your mods), and cover is available which includes Green Laning and/or Pay and Play use.
Mine cost £189 TFT with 1 year NCD and 1 at fault accident.
Chris Knott were a very close 2nd place though
Tip for getting the best price - don't get involved in Dutch auctions. When they ask what your best price so far is, don't tell them. Tell them to give you their best price and you'll go with the cheapest. If they want your business they will dig into their commision and give the most discount they can. That way you should get a better price than if you'd told them your best price so far. Simple but highly effective
Does anyone else use different companies?
